How many times you have thought how nice it would be to change your house so that it looks as good as new? One of the easiest ways to do this is to give it a new coat of paint. But what if the walls are dirty or have patches of lichen or cracks on them? What should you do about them?
Repainting the house is not complicated. But, if you are not good at D.I.Y you can call in a professional painter. However, at least you should know how to do it so that you can talk about it with them.
In this issue I will talk about how to prepare surfaces for painting your beautiful house, either for repainting an old house or for painting a new house for the first time. The key to a nice finish is good preparation of the surface.

The process is as follows :
Repainting
    1. Scrape off all the old paint. Clean the wall with a water jet with a pressure of at least
130 bars. If you do not have a water jet or there are some areas where you cannot use the water jet you can use mechanical brushing. Don't use metal brush because if there is a piece of metal left on the surface it can cause a rust stain on the wall.
    2. To clean mold, dirt and lichen, mix detergent used for washing white clothes with water in a ration of 1:10. Paint this on the wall and leave it for an hour before washing it off. Then leave the wall to dry for a week.
    3. To repair the walls, clean off any dust with a damp cloth. Paint any areas where there are holes with undercoat and leave to dry for 2-4 hours. If there are cracks all around the wall, use an acrylic sealant on and all around them and leave the wall to dry for 8 hours. If the crack is wide and deep, you may need to fill the hole with urethane foam until its depth is not more than half the width of the hole. If the hole is very deep, you will have to fill it many times. If the wall is rough and dusty, mix Portland cement, cement chemical and water. Then, spread the mixture on the wall to a thickness of between 0.1-1.0 cm. and leave the wall dry for 1 -3 days. After repairing the wall in this way smooth it down using sandpaper and water.
    4. Paint the wall with undercoat and leave for 3-4 hours until dry.
    5. Give the house two coats of paint in the color of your choice.

New Surface
    1. Leave the wall to dry for at least one month.
    2. Clean the wall until it has nothing stuck on the surface. Don't use a metal brush.
    3. Fill any holes or cracks-with filler and seal with acrylic sealant. Then, sand the filler until it smooth and level with the surrounding surface of the wall.
    4. Paint one coat of undercoat.

And that is all you have to do to have a house looking as good as new!
